Our structure is located in the heart of Ragusa, a baroque town that in 1693 was destroyed by a violent earthquake and then rebuilt on the slopes of the Iblei mountains. including the majestic Duomo. The splendid panorama is also visible from the panoramic staircase of the church of the Stairs from which one can observe the whole ancient Ragusa Ibla perched on the mountain adjacent to our structure. This staircase connects Ragusa Ibla with the Historical Center of Ragusa Superiore, that is the part of the city rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693. Also the historical center of Ragusa Superiore is characterized by numerous churches and palaces in Baroque style, among which the Cathedral stands out.In addition to the numerous sites of historical and artistic interest, the city of Ragusa is also famous for its peculiar eno-gastronomic traditions and for its proximity to the beautiful white sand beaches that are just 20 minutes away. Ragusa is therefore a pleasant combination of art, history, culture, sea and food and wine traditions.
Pura Vida Barocca is the fruit of a passion for travel and the knowledge of new places in the world, which merges with that for our wonderful island called Sicily Having traveled the world far and wide and developed an interest in the knowledge of cultures completely different from ours, we decided to open this structure that will be able to introduce many people, coming from near and distant lands, a little bit of our world, of our tastes, of our traditions and of our wonderful panoramas. The name of the structure is a tribute to Costa Rica, a country where the term "pure vida" is used, as well as a greeting, also as a wish for a simple and peaceful life, free from stress and constraints, in which everyone does what he loves and spends every day peacefully. To this term we have added "baroque" to recall the architectural style that characterizes our land and that manages to transform every single village into a glimpse of art and culture.
Our facility is located 10 minutes walk from Ragusa Ibla, following the aforementioned stairway, 2 minutes from the Old Town of Ragusa Superiore, and 20 minutes from the sea. ' Close to our structure there are also bars, pubs, restaurants, pizzerias, supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, pharmacies, as well as the bus station (about 10 minutes away) and the Civil Hospital (about 5 minutes away). At 40 minutes by car there are also the interesting tourist sites of Noto, Siracusa and Marzamemi; while just 20 minutes by car you can reach the baroque sites of Modica and Scicli. A 15-minute drive away is the beautiful Castle of Donnufugata. Our structure is also located about 100 meters from the new bridge and the old bridge which is the oldest and now only pedestrian, and the Via Roma bridge. The three bridges overlook the Vallata the green lung of Ragusa, and give those who look at them a unique panorama, which gave Ragusa the nickname "City of the three bridges".
