The house is located in Sottocastello di Cadore, a hamlet of Pieve just 1 km from the center, at the foot of Monte Ricco with views of the lake and the Dolomites. It's a second-floor apartment featuring 2 double bedrooms with 5 beds, a living room with a pellet stove, a bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and a balcony with breathtaking views. The area is perfect for trekking and MTB in the warm months thanks to the famous Lunga Via delle Dolomiti bike path, which starts here and connects Pieve to Cortina via Borca, Vodo, and San Vito, offering stunning UNESCO panoramas. It's also ideal for skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing in winter, with Cortina just 31 km away and nearby ski areas like San Vito and Auronzo. Just steps behind the house is a cozy bar, and next to it the Gothic church of San Lorenzo (built in 1682 on an ancient little temple, restored in 1795), the local patron saint with a village festival on August 10. Right in front of the house, a bakery and shop bake fresh warm croissants in the morning; a 10-minute walk (5 by car) to the Centro Cadore Dam, or Lake (1946), visible from the balcony, with the Ragni di Pieve climbing arena – a rock gym with competitions and routes for all levels. Pieve di Cadore is the birthplace of Tiziano Vecellio: visit his birthplace and the Eyewear Museum, which tells the story of the local tradition in eyewear production since the 15th century. Discover Parco Roccolo just 5 minutes away, with a panoramic terrace over the lake framed by the Dolomites, Santa's house, a gnome library, and ancient 19th-century forts on Monte Castello. Sottocastello boasts "Mus" street art (the donkey symbol of the locals), playgrounds with sports fields and picnic areas near the dam.

I'm thrilled to welcome you to a house that's much more than just a place to stay for me: it's a warm and cozy spot immersed in a landscape that feels like it's straight out of a fairy tale. My father bought this house to bring the family together and give us happy moments during vacations. Today, even though my family and I use it less often, my wish is for it to continue being filled with people who care for each other. My husband, my kids, and I manage the house. Hospitality is fundamental for us, with roots in both Sicily and Veneto: a warm home, something to drink and eat, a comfy bed, and all the little attentions that make you feel truly at home. For us, tradition means family, gathering around a big table sharing food, laughter, and maybe a glass of prosecco!
