Stay, enjoy and relax in a historical building that belonged to the De Benedetto family for several generations and has been recently transformed into a comfortable guest house, whilst keeping the charm and history of the old days. The structure was built towards the end of the 19th / beginning of 20th centuries by the De Benedetto family to serve as a small processing factory to make wine, olive oil and other agricultural products, with the rooms above used as the family residence. The building was erected on the outskirts of the then very small village, about 200m away from the baronial palace (which can still be visited). Today the building finds itself right in the middle of the small town of Collepasso, within a short walking distance of the main square, the palace, the shops, the restaurants. The town has retained its charm of as small town with an agricultural past. Peaceful, unassuming, friendly, Collepasso is a town where you can still buy a good pizza for the price of a beer in most European countries.

Santo was born in the Salento area; Silvana was born a little further away. Together, we have lived in four different countries and traveled to dozens of others. Getting to know different people, different cultures, different foods has always been our passion.

The building still retains many of the architectural features of the period, such as the high vaulted ceilings and the walls of sandstone popular in those days. Some of the old tools and features have been kept, such as the wine and oil presses, the large scales for weighing the produce, the large pools used for grape must fermentation, the initials of the family on the large door to the workshops. The large, airy, sunny rooms of the original family residence have been left practically untouched, showing off the high vaulted ceilings and balconies in some of the rooms. The ideal place for a quiet, peaceful, comfortable break. And, with a short drive, you can reach the coastal town of Gallipoli, with all its beaches and the nightlife. The beautiful cities of Lecce and Otranto are about half-an-hour’s drive away.
