Located in the Higashiyama area and directly next to Chion-in Temple grounds, Chion-in Wajun Kaikan offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations. Shakyo Sutra transcriptions and Buddhist morning services can be experienced and free WiFi is available at the public areas. The air-conditioned rooms feature a flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and a fridge. Guests can choose to stay in rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or in rooms with Western beds. The bathroom comes with a hairdryer and Japanese Yukata robes are provided. Guests can refresh in the spacious public baths and shop for local souvenirs at the gift shop. Historical Buddhists materials and artworks from Choin-in Temple are displayed at the gallery. Traditional multi-course meals featuring local Kyoto specialties and Buddhist vegetarian dishes are served for dinner. A Japanese set menu is available for breakfast. All meals are served at the Kasuian restaurant. Guests can take the public bus from JR Kyoto Train Station to Chioin-mae Bus Stop, which is a 5-minute walk away from the property. Wajun Kaikan Chion-in is a 5-minute walk from Yasaka Shrine and a 20-minute walk from Kiyomizu Temple. Gion Shijo Train Station is a 10-minute walk away and JR Kyoto Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.
