Step House へようこそ 山口県萩市・阿武川沿いに佇む Step House は、昭和時代の平屋をオーナーが少しずつDIYで整えてきた、素朴で静かな一軒家です。 “Step House” という名前には、 「地域の暮らしの中で一歩一歩ずつ進みながら成長できる場所でありたい」という想いが込められています。 家は 一棟貸し切りでご利用いただけるため、プライベートな空間で過ごすことができます。 窓の外には、ゆったりと流れる阿武川と美しい山並みが広がり、四季折々の自然が心を癒してくれます。 サイクリングや散歩、自然の中でのリトリートにも最適です。 また隣接する家では、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス（地域滞在制作） やボランティアプログラムを運営しており、海外のアーティストがが不定期で滞在している時期があり、地域の中での”国際交流拠点” としても機能しています。 Welcome to Step House Step House is a quiet and simple traditional home located along the peaceful Abu River in Hagi City, Yamaguchi. Originally a Showa-era house, it has been gradually renovated by the owner through DIY efforts. The name “Step House” comes from the idea of growing step by step through everyday life in the community. The house is rented out as a private whole-home stay, offering a calm space with views of the river and surrounding mountains. It’s perfect for cycling, walking, and relaxing in nature.

オーナーは1980年生まれ。 長年の上海生活を経て萩に移住、アート関係の仕事をしています。 地域の暮らしと共に多文化との共生や資源の活用をテーマにしながら、 “自然と文化が共存する暮らし” を大切にしています。 みなさんの滞在が、萩での素敵な体験の一歩となりますように。 The owner was born in 1980 and moved to Hagi after 15years of living in Shanghai. I work in the field of art, focusing on themes such as multicultural coexistence and the creative use of local resources. I value a way of life where nature and culture coexist harmoniously. We hope your stay becomes the first step toward a wonderful experience in Hagi.

山の散策やサイクリングで海辺へ行くことが出来ます。また近くのバス停から市内〜温泉までのバスがあります。この地域には文化財施設がたくさん点在しており、近くの文化財施設”湯川家住宅”はおすすめです。その他、萩焼体験、アトリエ訪問、釣り、カヌー体験、様々な体験をお楽しみいただけます。 You can hike or cycle through the mountains to reach the seaside. There are also buses from the nearby bus stop connecting the city center to the hot springs. This area is dotted with numerous cultural heritage sites, and the nearby “Yukawa Family Residence” is highly recommended. Additionally, you can enjoy various experiences such as Hagi ware pottery making, studio visits, fishing, and canoeing.
