Right outside the station is a shopping street with convenience stores, restaurants, 100-yen shops, flower shops, family restaurants, two large supermarkets, as well as Japanese and BBQ restaurants — very convenient. Only 15 minutes by train directly to Shinjuku, and 45 minutes by express train directly to Mt. Takao for autumn foliage viewing.
