Pronounced (Enku-say-row), named after the great marshy land otherwise known as the Musiara Marsh. Home of the Marsh pride of lions made famous by BBC’s Big Cat Diary TV series, the marsh is a perennial source of water that has served both wildlife and Maasai tribes with a lifeline for centuries. In the dry season, herds of elephants and buffalo congregate at the marsh making it a mecca for wildlife viewing. With resident plains game abundant throughout the year, the marsh is a hotbed of activity that intensifies with the arrival of the annual Great Migration of zebra and wildebeest.
