Mechrey Floating Village is one of the most authentic and scenic floating villages in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is located on the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The village is home to about 300 families who live in wooden houses on stilts or floating platforms. The villagers depend on fishing, farming, and tourism for their livelihoods. They also have a unique culture and lifestyle that is adapted to the changing water levels of the lake.
