My business partner Andy and I bought our house in 2006 and spent several years renovating it. It was and still is a labour of love and is both a guest house business and a holiday home for us and our friends. We love the vibrancy of the Fez Medina and the peacefulness and ambiance of Dar Drissi. We like nothing better than when our guests express the same joy that we do.

At Dar Drissi we pride ourselves on providing our guests with a delightful and genuinely authentic Moroccan medina experience. In the guest house we have taken great care to preserve or restore all original features of the very old building, while also providing modern en suite plumbing and air conditioning in all guest rooms. Our staff are friendly and always willing to provide advice and assistance to ensure that our guests get to experience all the medina has to offer in comfort and safety. We offer rooms to suit all travelers from our magnificent Atlas Salon with its 4-poster bed and room for a family of 5, down to our single person Merenid room - small but with its own bathroom and air conditioning, as are all our rooms.

The medina is an utterly fascinating place. It is steeped in history and everywhere one can see ancient and traditional ways of life blended beautifully into our modern world without becoming spoiled by it. There is almost no motorised traffic. Goods are moved through the medina on the backs of mules and donkeys and in hand carts. The streets and souks are full of wares, both for the tourists and for the local inhabitants. There are many restaurants, many traditional but with plenty of other choices too. Local crafts are practiced everywhere (including the world famous leather tannery). This ancient walled city is built around the slopes of a river valley close to the foothills of the Mid Altas mountains. From our roof terrace one can see the medina spread out into the distance with the mountains forming a back drop beyond.
