“Dar es Salam" (house of peace) is a lovely, luminous, quiet & spacious house. Located in the old walled “medina” of Asilah, it's within 50m of food & handicraft markets, fresh fish restaurants, a “hammam” (Turkish sauna), bakery, pharmacy, etc.. The house is lodging ready for tourist stays when you check-in, clean sheets on the beds and fresh towels in the bathrooms. The kitchen is completely equipped for cooking. Preference is given to families & couples. A small TV in the salon is connected to ASTRA Satellite offering multi-language European Channels and ADSL WIFI. Asilah and Dar es Salam await your visit! The property is a townhouse occupying the second and third floors of a typical Moroccan house with the third floor offering a small but well-equipped kitchen, a covered domomg area and a covered chillout Moroccan khaima (tent) with large sofas and tables. There are stairs to the second and third floors but both stairs have security gates to avoid falls for small children. There are also smoke alarms.

I've lived in 4 countries and speak a few languages. I love travelling and now that I am retired from teaching English in Barcelona, I have more time to dedicate to that. I like cinema, theater and other performing arts as well as museum browsing. I'm interested in history and anthropology and both often influence my choice of destinations. In my private time, I like to swim, take long walks, practice yoga and I enjoy cooking and reading. I consider myself a good friend to my friends and I also love animals although I don't currently have a pet. I have many years of experience hosting tourists in Barcelona, Menorca (Balearic Islands) and Asilah, Morocco. I think the best motto for hosting is to practice the GOLDEN RULE: Treat your guests the way you would like to be treated when you're travelling.

Asilah is a small village of historic and touristic interest that offers artisan shops, great fresh fish restaurants, nice Atlantic beaches and even excursions to Tangier, Tetuan, Larache and Chefchouen.
