La Vieille Cheminée is situated on a 200-acre farm in Charamel and is surrounded by two rivers, indigenous trees and forest. It features an outdoor swimming pool, terrace and garden. The rustic self-catering units at La Vieille Cheminée, Tropical Farm & Eco-Lodges are equipped with air conditioning, a fully-equipped kitchen and barbecue facilities. 3 of the cottages boast a fireplace. Each en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower and free toiletries. Meals can be arranged prior to arrival at a surcharge and are delivered to your cottage. Guests have access to a common area, consisting of 2 kiosks and a plunge pool, offering views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Free WiFi is available at the Reception area, and a small grocery shop on the premises offers basic commodities such as oil, milk, snacks, cold drinks, beer and wine. In the nearby village there are grocery stores and a variety of restaurants serving mainly local dishes. Guests can enjoy horse riding on the property, and interact with the farm horses. Black River Gorges National Park is within 12 km and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is a 55 minutes’ drive away.
