Tropic Tree Maldives is managed by Tropic X Maldives Pvt Ltd. It is family owned small company. Our family is one of the early welcomers who hosted tourists in their humble home in Gulhi (Chandhanee House), Maldives. Our parents hosted tourists during early 1980’s up until the change of government policy in 1984. Tropic X Maldives Ltd has been in hospitality trade since 2006. Tropic Tree Maldives has been in operation since 2015.

Tropic Tree Maldives is a small hotel (guesthouse) run and managed by a local family from Gulhi. The hotel with 10 double rooms and one family room is just 21km away from the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Malé, Maldives. The hotel rooms are tastefully decorated; some with private balcony and access to the roof top terrace where guests can enjoy the sea view and star gazing at night. All rooms are air-conditioned, with attached bathrooms supplied with fresh hot and cold water, wireless Internet, room safe and mini fridge.

Gulhi island has a tradition of welcoming visitors and guests which is evident from the way people interact with visitors and people who have taken permanent residence in the island. Gulhi also has one of the finest bikini beach in North Male' Atoll. It is very close to the aiport just 30 minute speedboat ride away.

Please note that the Tropic Tree Hotel Maldives is located on the charming island of Gulhi, south Male Atoll.

There are two dedicated bikini beaches in Gulhi where visitors can wear bikini or similar swimwear. In local inhabited islands, the government regulations require that visitors or locals do not wear bikini or similar swimwear while in the public areas.

Please note the following information regarding transfer/journey from Male International Airport to Tropic Tree Hotel Maldives at Gulhi Island.

Please share your flight details with the property at least 3 days before your arrival to secure your seat(s) for the transfer.

The property can be reached by:

1- A public ferryboat:

Ferryboat takes around 80 minutes to reach Gulhi Island

Ferryboat departs from Villingili Ferry Terminal (MTCC terminal) in Malé at 15:00

Return ferry departs from Gulhi Island at 08:00

If your flight lands after 13:00, you miss the ferryboat, or you arrive on Fridays, you may wish to take the speedboat transfer or make arrangements to spend the night in Malé.

Please note that there are no ferry services on Fridays
