This magnificent home on the beach was renovated and updated to carefully preserve but update classic Mexican style, features and design. The grand scale tall ceilings and open concept are refreshing in contrast to many homes that feel boxy and compartmentalized. Ideally suited for families or group retreats, there are 5 large bedrooms each featuring their own private balcony. Casa Saltwater Cowboy is located on a stunning stretch of the Gulf of Mexico with the house set back from the water's edge allowing for a generous beach area. This is ideal for setting up badminton/volleyball nets or any other beach recreation you prefer! Throw your casting net right from the espalone where you can catch many different varieties of fish or wade in and cast your rod. Either way, the pelicans will keep a close eye on your progress! Hours slip by easily while you play in the ocean mesmerized by the sea birds and their daily shows. A rooftop terrace with built in seating offers incredible views of the gulf and, being on a peninsula, the water on the south side.

Ideally located between the fishing villages of Chelem and Chuburna, you will enjoy privacy and quiet at the house while a short 'taxi' or bus ride will take you to either town for shopping, dining, worshipping or experiencing some arts and culture. This area of the Yucatan peninsula is abound with culture, charm and rustic character. The fishing villages are an active mix of friendly locals and expats who enjoy small town benefits including family run restaurants, markets and shops. You won't find crowds or much of hint of urbanization. The world class city of Merida is 40 minutes away if you wish to satisfy your Costco, Starbucks et al needs at any point during your stay. Please note that because Casa Saltwater Cowboy En La Playa is serviced by the local CFE (power company), the existing infrastructure for the area is not as you would find in a modern city or resort. During times of high demand there are occasions where power brown outs and surges may need to be accommodated. Because of this, the owner has also installed a back up generator that starts up if the house is without power for 4 consecutive minutes. It will also automatically shut off once hydro power returns.
