A unique accommodation in picturesque Wadway. Nestled among meadows in the heart of West Friesland, it's close to the IJsselmeer lake, home to the VOC city of Hoorn and other Zuiderzee towns. The vibrant city of Amsterdam and the North Holland coast are a half-hour drive away, as is the Cheese City of Alkmaar. A unique sleeping experience in a Finnish Kota, with a beautiful garden and a refreshing swimming pool. You can also combine your stay with an evening of wellness; we offer a wood-fired sauna and hot tub for a fee. The swimming pool is shared with the residents by arrangement, it's not heated.
We built the kota ourselves and thoroughly enjoy hosting guests! It's so wonderful to welcome so many different guests and nationalities. We always feel so fortunate to provide our guests with a wonderful stay, making them feel at home.
We live in a rural area with many traditional North Holland farmhouses. There are beautiful cycling routes through picturesque villages. There's a beach on the IJsselmeer lake, just 10 minutes from our kota in Hoorn. We recommend taking the steam train from Hoorn to Medemblik, where you can continue by boat across the IJsselmeer lake to Enkhuizen and then take the train back to Hoorn. The Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen is also worth a visit. From our holiday home, you can reach the beautiful town of Schoorl in just half an hour. There, you can enjoy wonderful walks or cycle rides through the woods and dunes. There's also a mountain bike track, the most beautiful and largest in the Netherlands. Plenty of bikes are available for rent there. Beautiful seaside resorts include Egmond aan Zee, Bergen aan Zee, Callantsoog, and Julianadorp. From October, De Boet Garden Centre will be fully in the Christmas spirit again.
