Just outside the cottage wall you will find cross-country ski trails in winter and hiking or biking trails in summer. There are miles of hiking trails and paths here. On the other hand, if you want other types of excursions, Fulufjellet National Park is not far away. On a hot summer day you might want to visit a swimming spot, the best one is lake Gjetsjøen between Østby and Trysil. You can also swim in the river Ljøra, which is an eldorado for anglers or canoeists. In summer Trysilfjellet has several cycling facilities, a golf course and a climbing park. In winter you have many options when it comes to ski resorts. Besides Trysilfjellet and Sälenfjellet, on the Swedish side there are the family-friendly resorts in Ljørdalen (Fulufjellet) or Stöten.
