Welcome to Birdbox Bergen, located in the countryside in Bergen. Here you are at one with nature, while enjoying comfort. Here you can enjoy sunrise all year round from the bed. The sunset is spectacular in winter, while on the long, bright summer evenings you can enjoy a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere in and outside the Birdbox. Bergen Birdbox is located on the pasture of Øvre Haukås Gård, where sheep roam all year round. In spring you may be lucky and experience a panoramic view of the lambing. Access to Birdbox Bergen is via a ~400 meter long path from the parking. There is a climb for much of the walk up to the Birdbox, a walk that takes about 10 minutes to walk. Western Norway is known for a lot of rain, and we therefore recommend waterproof shoes. The Birdbox is furnished with a lovely made-up double bed, two good chairs and a small table. At the entrance at the end there is a small kitchenette with a sink. Here you will find a kettle and a small fridge. Note; there is no cooking facilities at the Birdbox. Only the kettle to warm up water. For you to enjoy you will find a mixture of tea and coffee. The toilet is in a separate box a few meters from the Birdbox. This is an incineration toilet and a simple solution for cleaning hands installed. There is no running water in either the toilet box or the Birdbox itself. Hence there is no facilities for taking a shower. We recommend a bath in the lake here at Haukås, or visit Bergen Caravanpark who offer a shower for a few NOK. Outside the Birdbox there is a small terrace with two chairs that you can use. Be aware that there is no local supermarket nearby, any food for your stay would have to be carried with you. When you arrive there will be drinking water for you in the fridge. A can of more water that is tapped from the tap water at the farm is also available for you in the cabinet next to the fridge.

Øystein has lived on the farm his entire life. In his eyes Haukås is the most beautiful place in the whole world, and when this wife Eli wanted a small cabin up in the pasture of the farm the idea of Birdbox Bergen came real.
