Community Homestay Network is an initiative from Royal Mountain Travel. It is a community-based Homestay network that connects global-travelers with the real faces of Nepal for a genuine local travel experience in Nepal. As once a French novelist Marcel Proust said, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” Community Homestay Network is a way of exploring the rich diversity of Nepalese communities and forms a bridge to connect local people and the culture of Nepal to the rest of the world. Community Homestay Network is also a great way to exchange your ideas and skills to the local communities. Many of our Homestays support their own village schools and learning centers from the surplus they generate from the Homestay project. Whilst staying in one of the Homestays, you can also volunteer to teach in one of the schools, assist with the rebuilding of classrooms damaged in the earthquake, or help by simply sharing your ideas about health, education, and hygiene in the local community, encouraging and inspiring local people for better tomorrows.

Jungle Safari is the most amazing activity where you can see Tiger, Rhino and many other Wild Species. Watching birds is another social activity. This a traditional Tharu homestay, thus all houses are made of mud and decorated in the Tharu style, depicting mud sculptures of the local wildlife. Bardia Homestay is a community of 22 families, living a traditional Tharu lifestyle. The indigenous Tharu people, also called "Children of Nature", have been living in the grasslands of Bardia National Park for centuries and know the place like no other. Hosting guests is an additional income for these families and they enjoy introducing guests to their unique culture and this extraordinary place.

Bardia Community Homestay is located in the Khata Corridor, a strip of land that connects Nepal's Bardia National Park with India's Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. Wild elephants and tigers use this corridor frequently to migrate between Nepal and India, making it a prime spot for wildlife watching. Those who want to increase their chances of spotting a Royal Bengal Tiger can even spend a night in a traditional Machan Tower in the Jungle.
