This property is unique. This private apartment with private access, is situated on the upper storey of our home. Set in beautiful gardens Mount Taranaki watches your back and Oakura beach beckons you to its shores. Walk down the garden path to the beach and use our hot outdoor shower on your return. There is a kyak you can borrow or just lounge in the hammock. A private courtyard is at your disposal, you may borrow the BBQ, just pay for the gas you use. You may invite friends to dine with you. All rooms have access to the balcony deck and sea views. Enjoy our hospitality, the new kitchenette and Sami our dog who will welcome you on arrival. Should you wish to bring a pet please make a request to us beforehand. Sami is a small cavoodle. 49 on Jans is ideal for groups, families, Womad, the Garden Festival, holidays, visiting Len Lye or the Arts Festival. It is a small village atmosphere where everyone is friendly. I am able to host weddings in the garden and am a registered celebrant. The decor is casual but smart and beds very comfortable. The hot water heating is gas. We have installed a washing machine for your convenience and if you are staying for a while.

A registered celebrant, teacher, dancer (I frequently visit Buenos Aires for Argentine Tango), wife, mother, grandmother to two beautiful grand daughters and avid gardener. Walk down the road or beach and you will find the Black Sand restaurant. Up in the village there is an arts trail, pub, more restaurants, shops and food outlets. Further north towards New Plymouth there is a winery and down south you will see the light house, Opunake Beach, Te Whiti museum and craft shops. We are a 10 minute drive from New Plymouth where you will find the famous Len Lye Centre, Puke Ariki, Pukekura Park, the Bowl of Brooklands, aquatic centre, the walkway and many more exciting sights. You can surf from just in front of the apartment or enjoy walking for miles on our black iron sand. We are a typical west coast beach. You will often see people riding horses or walking their dogs. It is a place to come and relax on the beach or visit our parks and mountain. We have it all.
