Lookout Escape is located in a private, tranquil spot with garden and mountain views and is only a few minutes from the centre of Alexandra. The BnB is private and is self contained with a kitchenette, king bed and bathroom. Parking is off street and easy. Guests can enjoy garden and mountain views from the well appointed studio unit or can sit under the verandah in the shade of the Central Otago sun.

Lookout Escape is within walking distance from the Alexandra township via ‘Shaky Bridge’ one of the earliest bridges crossing the Manuherikia River. We are only minutes away from local shops, cafes, a dairy, medical services and a pharmacy. Takeaways can be delivered. Clyde and Alexandra offer many casual dining options. At the higher end we are well served by Oliver’s in Clyde, Pitches Store in Ophir and The Packing Shed in Earnscleugh. Central Otago is beknown for its wines. There are many local wineries offering wine tastings and tours. For cycling enthusiasts, the Otago Central Rail Trail and the Matangi Station Mountain Bike Park are only 500m away. The Lake Dunstan Bike Trail begins 11 kms away in Clyde and can be ridden in a few hours to Cromwell. Stopping at the ‘Burger Boat’ is a must! Alexandra has a well maintained 18 hole golf course where you can play almost anytime. 30kms away is the 9 hole Omakau Golf Course with a great No.7 Par 3 hole! Clyde has a popular 9 hole course and Roxburgh is also well worth visiting to play on their 18 hole course. Alexandra has a centrally located museum and art gallery which is worth checking out. There are concerts held on the premises from time to time as well.. If heritage is your interest, spend time visiting the towns of Clyde, Ophir and St Bathans.
