Located to the south of Bannockburn village, close to Cromwell lies your perfect getaway — Bannockburn House and Cottage. Situated within a hectare of garden and orchard you're a million miles away from anywhere yet within an hour of Queenstown and Wanaka or 10 minutes from Cromwell and Highlands Motorsport Park. The Central Otago rail trail commences in Clyde which is a 20 minute drive from Bannockburn. The Bellbird & Tui rooms suit guests looking for a more luxurious getaway - an adults only zone, furnished with hotel style beds, leather seating and alpaca rugs. A gourmet tea and coffee station is available 24/7 and breakfast served in the house dining area. The cottage suits those wishing to look after themselves a little more, continental breakfast provisions are provided within the cottage and a BBQ is available to cottage guests if they'd like to self cater in the evenings. For guests staying in the cottage, we may be able to cater to approved pets - please make enquiries directly with the property to confirm if this is possible. The Cottage is not really suitable for children due to our general landscape, rocky outcrops etc.

Chris & Julia love sharing their home with visiting guests and can offer a wealth of experience in providing advice on activities to enjoy in the region they love. Like most Kiwis, they have also travelled extensively both throughout NZ and many countries in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. But there’s no place like home and they love to share that with guests from near and far. With backgrounds in meteorology, finance, hospitality, marketing and a passion for food, wine, gardening, biking, and most things outdoorsy they can recommend many an activity to cement your memories of a fabulous stay in Central Otago Chris and Julia share their home with their very friendly cat, Lenny. While he is not allowed in guest rooms he loves a cuddle and you may see him around the property.

Bannockburn House and Cottage is a great place to base yourself if you are wanting to explore the wider Central Otago region. It's an almost equal drive time of 50-60 minutes to Queenstown & Wanaka, just 10 minutes to Cromwell and the famous Highlands Motor Sport Park. A quiet neighbourhood with exceptional star gazing on a clear night. In the winter there are four ski fields within an hours drive and some of these also offer mountain bike trails during the Summer months. There are numerous other mountain bike and walking trails very close by. Bannockburn is known internationally for its superb quality wine production and there are many wineries you can visit and sample within a 10 minute drive or a leisurely walk. The Bannockburn Sluicing area offers a glimpse into days gone by and has many walking trails within it...why not take a wander from our doorstep and stop into the Bannockburn Hotel on the way home for some refreshments and a meal?
