Set within our private vineyard at the foothills of Mt Karioi, overlooking Ruapuke Beach (a 5-min drive), this is a unique opportunity to stay at a remote location without compromising on comfort. The space - You’ll feel immersed in nature, in an isolated part of Waikato’s west coast. Enjoy expansive views across lush native bush towards the ocean from the viewing platform just a few steps from your door. The exclusive-use barrel sauna will help you completely unwind during your stay, custom-made with a full glass front to showcase this incredible outlook. Guests can book one sauna per day in advance by messaging us - robes are also provided. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves in a comfortable queen-size bed. Wake up to birdsong and a coffee from your in-room Nespresso machine. As we are some distance from any restaurants (Raglan is your closest town), we recommend coming prepared so you can embrace this opportunity to feel totally removed from the world! You can take advantage of the barbecue provided, or the studio also features a kitchenette with a single plug-in hob, microwave, fridge, sink and all the basic utensils. Tea and coffee is provided, and our filtered tap water is safe to drink. Limited reception offers a chance to disconnect, however free WiFi is available to guests. The room has a 55 inch TV with Netflix available for guest use, plus a stash of books, magazines and board games. Barrique Studio is situated within our small working vineyard. Planted in 2018, it consists of 1050 vines, mostly Syrah and Pinot Gris grapes. Ask us about our wine tasting, shelter experience, and guest platter.

As a healthcare professional Haylee has a passion for people. Our friendly golden retriever, Daisy, is always happy to accept a few extra pats. We know many guests prefer to enjoy privacy, but if you’re looking for recommendations for activities and exploring, we love sharing our knowledge of the local area. We know that you’re here to embrace the magic of a more isolated escape. So, while our family (including our lovely natured golden retriever dog) live in the main house in front of your accommodation, we ensure you have the space to enjoy this peaceful location with privacy. Remote rugged West Coast, known for it's great surfing, fishing, and hiking. While it’s a journey worth taking, there is 4km of gravel road to reach us. It adds to the charm of our remote location, but if you’re not comfortable with driving your vehicle on gravel, this may not be the right accommodation for you.
