Only a 200 metre flat walk to Paihia Village and Wharf - beach across the road. Bayswater is a home that can accommodate up to 10 guests but we have priced it so two people or more can book it and get the advantage and space of a large home but not pay for what they would not use. All we do is lock off rooms that won't be used On two levels - top floor open plan kitchen, dining and lounge plus bathroom, huge deck with BBQ, great views. Below four double bedrooms - three with Queen Beds and one with a Double Bed - sleep 8 - Master Bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. There is also another bathroom and a lounge area with 2 king singles. So 10 in total - Very quiet! So a couple will have the ensuited Master Bedroom downstairs and the entire first floor - heaps of space. With two couples one will have the ensuited Master Bedroom and the second couple will have their own bathroom. Please contact us if you need more information. In front of the house is one of Paihia’s best known restaurants – Just Fish and Chips - great location if you feel like dining out and don’t want to drive anywhere!

Louise and Chester Rendell are long time residents of Paihia and originally purchased the property in 1983 when it was a Motel and Tea House. It took about six weeks for them to work out that there was no money in “scones, jam and cream”, and it wasn’t long before the ‘Courtyard Restaurant’ morphed out of the original Tea House. Later this became ‘Bistro 40’ and then ‘Only Seafood’ was established above Bistro 40 in 1991. Fast forward to 2019, Chester and Louise decided to re-open the restaurant, under the JFC brand, with the simple aim of providing just good, honest fish & chips. JFC only purchases fresh fish. Another point of difference is the delicious crunchy chips which are handmade at the restaurant. Produce is sourced in the Bay of Islands first, Northland and certainly New Zealand if at all possible.
