Bird Haven is a completely refurbished and modern unit with all the comforts of home. The unit enjoys amazingly stunning views over Coromandel Harbour (even from your bed). The location, being alongside a bush reserve and on a non-through road is extremely peaceful, with amazing bird life. All this is within walking distance of Hannaford's Wharf, where you could disembark the Auckland Ferry. There is private outside space to enjoy the balmy evenings and watch the sun set over the harbour. We are also right on the doorstep of one of the best fishing areas in New Zealand and only a short 10 minute drive into Coromandel Town with its fantastic restaurants, cafes and art culture. Te Kouma is an ideal spot from which to explore the rest of the Coromandel peninsula.

Malcolm and I love hosting guests from all over the world and having had 9 seasons of experience in B&B's we feel we do a pretty good job. A very warm welcome awaits you and we are only too happy to help you organise your daily activities, if you wish, in order to make the most of your stay. Malcolm and I are both retired, Malcolm from secondary school teaching (Design Technology) and myself from "Care in the home" work. We both love travelling, meeting people and all that Coromandel has to offer e.g. Golf, fishing, walking, gardening and eating out. I particularly enjoy baking so you will be able to sample some of my creations during your stay.
