This gorgeous two bedroom cottage oozes with character and has it's own sun deck and private garden.  It's in a private location 5 minutes drive from Takaka and only a one-minute drive to Pohara beach and the beachside 9 hole Takaka golf course. It's an ideal base for families or a romantic getaway for two. PLEASE NOTE: I do not charge you a cleaning fee, I'd rather you spent that money on your holiday. I just ask that guests spend 10 minutes on checkout - strip the beds, do your dishes and leave the property nice and clean. Pets are welcome, so if you have bad allergies to pets then maybe this isn't the property for you.

Hi! Im both a host and a guest, Ive had some great experiences in both instances, meeting a lot of lovely people on the way. I will generally greet you on arrival and, as I live next door, I can be reached easily or by phone or text. If I'm not available to welcome you, the key will be made available.

The cottage is a two minute drive or a ten-minute walk from beautiful Pohara beach. Further to the east are beaches at Ligar Bay, Tata Beach and Wainui Bay. Golden Bay Kayaks operates out of Tata Beach. The local golf course is only a ten minute walk away as is the lovely Grove Scenic Reserve with its giant rata trees, moody limestone rock formations and wonderful lookout over Golden Bay. The Abel Tasman National Park and the Kahurangi National Parks both border Golden Bay, making it the perfect holiday destination for nature lovers. The Cottage is 30 minutes drive from Totaranui, a beautiful beach within the northern part of Abel Tasman. En route are lovely gentle walks at Wainui Falls and Wainui Bay. Blue Cottage is a 5 minute drive from Takaka. As there is no public transport around Golden Bay it is recommended that guests travel around by car. Alternatively if you are a keen cyclist, bicycles can be hired in Takaka.
