Waipu Cove beach, one of Bream Bay’s finest beaches, is right here at camp and just a stone’s throw from your accommodation! Waipu Cove is an open surf beach and is patrolled by lifeguards in season. Waipu Cove is excellent for surfing, when the swell is up and one of Northland’s great surfing attractions. Relax in the sun, watch the little ones building sandcastles or take a dip or stroll along miles of soft, white sand. There is a lovely river on the southern end of the beach, which is great for the children to swim in. Waipu town centre is just a five minute drive from Camp Waipu Cove. Here you will find a variety of places to enjoy a hearty breakfast, good coffee or top-quality restaurant dinner. The closest city to Waipu is Whangarei. Both Waipu and our Waipu Cove accommodation are just a 40 minute drive from Whangarei. Waipu town also offers a large grocery store, along with great gift and craft stores that are well worth a browse. Waipu’s Monthly Markets are held on the second Sunday of each month and are a great Northland attraction.
