Our homestead was built in 1918, we have completely renovated the whole house while keeping all of the original features. We have recently added en-suites to our two guest rooms. You will be most welcome to share our living areas, wander around the garden or go and say hello to our friendly Boer goats. There are four veranda's so there is always somewhere to sit and relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine and enjoy the sunshine. We have a large country garden which is especially pretty in the spring, the Scarlet oaks around the driveway are spectacular in the Autumn. In summer we have the croquet lawn and grass tennis court ready for a bit of competition.

Come and enjoy a luxurious stay in our home, plenty of space to just relax and enjoy our lovely garden or explore the nearby river and local attractions. Matthew is a keen fisherman and hunter, he loves working with timber and has made all of our furniture. I enjoy baking, reading, gardening and just being outside in the lovely fresh air. We are in the heart of the Hurunui District on the Alpine Pacific Touring Route. Just north of the Hurunui Village and about 10 minutes south of Culverden. We are a short drive from the Waiapara Valley wine Region and about 35 minutes south of Hanmer Springs. We are right beside Hurunui River with some of the best Brown trout fishing in New Zealand. A short walk up the hill to the Historic Balmoral Forestry Lookout will give you a wonderful view over the Culverden Basin, Hurunui River and the mountains. We can arrange a day fly fishing on the Hurunui River or a day trip with a picnic lunch to Lake Taylor - a beautiful drive with stunning views all the way, and you probably won’t see anyone else all day!
