Tom is a born-and-raised Kiwi with a love for cycling and adventure—he once rode the Silk Road and is always happy to share stories (or trail tips!). Karolina is from Prague and brings a warm European charm to our cozy corner of New Zealand. And Frank? He’s head of hospitality when it comes to tail wags, unlimited pats, and the warmest welcomes. Nestled in the charming village of Lauder, in the heart of Central Otago, Lauder School Bed & Breakfast offers a unique and memorable stay in the historic Lauder Railway School. Lovingly restored and tastefully decorated, our accommodation provides a welcoming and comfortable retreat for travellers cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail or exploring the region. We can host up to 20 guests across a variety of accommodation options, including rooms within the historic school building and inviting garden cabins. Whether you're a couple, solo traveler, or part of a group, you'll find a cozy and relaxed atmosphere perfect for your stay. Guests have access to our spacious Common Room and beautiful country gardens, ideal for unwinding or socializing after a day of cycling or sightseeing. Looking for a special venue? Lauder School B&B is also available for private hire — whether it’s a hen party, birthday, wedding, or another celebration, we’d love to host your event in our unique setting.

- Stay overnight on your 150km Otago Central Rail Trail adventure. - For a shorter, highlight experience of the Otago Central Rail Trail, why not catch a shuttle to start your ride at Auripo, Oturehua or Wedderburn, take in the tunnels and Poolburn Gorge viaduct and stay a night at Lauder School B&B before cycling on in the morning to Clyde.
