Come and experience tiny house living! Oxford Tiny House is located in Oxford, North Canterbury, New Zealand. Self contained, self catering accommodation set on our 10 acre lifestyle block in the Canterbury foothills with mountain views. Just 45 minutes from Christchurch and an easy 30 minute drive to Rangiora. Come and enjoy a break away from the hustles & bustles of city life! Feed the friendly chickens and watch the cattle lazing the day away. There is a kitchen, dining area, bathroom (flushable toilet, shower, gas hot water) so you don't have to sacrifice your creature comforts when staying here! On the "ground" floor there is a kitchenette in the central area, complete with gas hob, fridge and space for dining. There is a kettle, toaster, microwave & wall heater. There is a separate lounge for relaxing in, it has a sofa bed (which can be made into a double bed on request) and a tv. In the loft area there is a queen mattress at one end and two single mattresses at the other. Due to previous issues WE NO LONGER ACCEPT BOOKINGS FOR BRIDAL PARTY GROUPS attending weddings or other wedding related events. We try our best to limit our impact on the environment. Our tap water is suitable for drinking. Recycling bins are provided. We provide full sized bathroom products (not miniatures) which are to stay here as we refill them. We also have a compost bin for any food scraps which we feed to our chickens! Our family home is approx 40 metres away and we are happy to introduce you to our lovely chickens! Need accommodation for more guests or need a bit more space? Check out Oxford Holiday Cottage (approx 12 metres away from the tiny house). Strictly no parties. We no longer accept bookings for bridal parties. No smoking or vaping inside.

The tiny house is just a short 5 minute drive (5km) to Oxford village. Enjoy a walk up Mount Oxford or the Ryde Falls, local horse trek, kayak on the Ashley River or have a jet boat ride on the Waimakariri River. Try out canyoning at Glentui. There are lovely boutique shops, supermarket, cafes & a wine bar. Pick up some great local products at the Oxford Farmers Market every Sunday morning. Oxford has an Art Gallery with new exhibitions each month show casing New Zealand's Artists. Oxford Craft market operates on the first Sunday of the month. Try out a pie from the Sheffield Pie shop (bakery cafe in Oxford and Sheffield). They come highly recommended! Porters Ski Area is approximately 45 minutes away and Mt Hutt is about 1hr 15 mins away. It's 45 mins to the airport or Northlands shopping mall and 50 mins to the city centre. The mountain valleys and ridge lines offer opportunity to enjoy alpine and forest environments for those who love to hike or short bush and village walks are close by for those who prefer a leisurely amble. Choose from day walks, overnight tramps or mountain biking (permitted on the Wharfedale Track only). Refer to the Department of Conservation website for more information on local walks.
