Whether you want to relax and simply watch the tide come in and out or be more active in our magic surroundings there is something for everyone. Young and old, singles, friends or family, this is a place to disconnect with the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with each other and nature - the perfect waterfront holiday paradise. We pride ourselves on the relaxed, no fuss, homely environment where you can just concentrate on enjoying yourselves.
We are relaxed, outdoor-loving, friendly people who love sharing the best parts of our place with guests. If we're home, we'll welcome you and show you in and then leave you to enjoy the place as if it's your home. If not, there will be a key out and we're always contactable by phone if you require assistance. While we live upstairs the property is large enough that we can co-exist without crossing paths frequently.
While Whangarei is a short drive (25 minutes) away for larger ammenities, Ngunguru has a general store, cafe, as well as a fish and chip shop. Just over the hill in Tutukaka (5 minutes drive) there is also a petrol station and a small but great selection of bars, restaurants, shops and an art gallery. We are the gateway to the Poor Knights, one of NZ's most famous marine reserves. The coast is also abundant in walks that take in native bush and the ocean, spectacular bays and safe swimming.
