The Captain's House is the perfect getaway. Close to everything that Akaroa has to offer, walk to offer: restaurants and shops. Away from busy roads, it's also a peaceful retreat removed from the hustle and bustle of town. The house sits on a large three-quarter acre section of land with a beautiful garden and a wonderful deck with views overlooking Akaroa Harbour and the hills surrounding Akaroa. There are two sheep in the paddock. Please note that you have to climb stairs to access the house. The Starboard Room is a cosy stay, with a queen size bed that offers breathtaking views of the harbour. The Port Room is quiet and comfortable, for one or two guests, with twin beds, and surrounded by greenery. Those rooms give you access to a sitting room dedicated to guests, equiped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, books, games, coffee, tea, TV and dvds. The full bathroom is shared by guests.

Captain Roy is a long-time resident of Akaroa, living here over 23 years. He also owns a historic sailboat, taking tourists to see dolphins and the wonders of Akaroa Harbour during the summer. Professional bartender and chef, entertainer, and gracious host. He enjoys sailing, fishing, hiking, travelling the world, yoga. Ask him about local activities and what to see. He's exceptionnally knowledgeable about Akaroa's history and heritage.

The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, 600 meters to the beach and shopping. Everything is walking distance.
