THE KAURI TREE POD . This is a OFF THE GRID EXPERIENCE… Nestled in the foothills of Tararua ranges among pine forest & native bush. With the Te Araroa trail at the gate , makes a perfect spot to for the adventurous . Hunting ,tramping & mountain bike riding all within the location. Or just relax , reset & rejuvenate. Whilst bird watching & listening to the glorious bird song & the near by Makahika stream. 3 wooden cabins,situated around a courtyard, heated with a magnificent flare wood fire . Why not try your wood fire cooking skills during your stay. 1 cabin sleeping /sitting, heated with a mini metro wood fire, you will certainly be comfortable & cozy. 1 bathroom with a generous sized tub that can accommodate two. Light the candelabra for more ambiance & romantic feel. Bambooloo compostable toilet for your convenience. 1 off grid kitchen, help yourself to the array of fresh herbs available to add to your cooking. Generous sized chilly bin . Your hot water is heated with a Bosch hydro hot water system. Lighting, there is lanterns & head lamps available. During your stay, you have total privacy & access to all cabins & courtyard. There is no power outlets, we are more than happy to charge your device if needed during your stay. The kauri tree Pod is located on the same property as the main house. Patrick is a keen hunter & will be able to direct you to the walking/ hunting / mountain bike tracks available in our backyard. The Kauri Tree Pod is also home to The Gypsy McGee boutique. This boutique is full of beautiful handcrafted body products, a selection of beeswax candles. These products are all environmentally sustainable and contain no harmful chemicals. The kauri Tree pod. Has a river near by to take a dip on those hot summer days . Or take a drive out to one of Horowhenuas beaches . The beaches on the west coast of New Zealand are famous for their black sand . The closest town is a 10 min drive. Levin is home to Swazi outdoor clothing & Rj s confectionery factory shop. It also has many take out food options. If you were wanting to explore the Horowhenua region a little more , take a short drive to Foxton to visit the working windmill , why not check out the Dutch delicacies . Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city is just over an hours drive . Home to Peter Jacksons Weta workshop & Te papa , museum of New Zealand. A wonderful day trip , Wellington is a vibrant little capital city . It is full of culture and great eatery’s. The Gypsy McGee boutique is onsite.
