Purpose built, this boutique, villa-style accommodation is designed to provide discerning guests with modern amenities and attention to detail. You will enjoy inclusions that are not considered standard by many other accommodation providers, including a complimentary bar of chocolate, exclusive use of the spa pool, with bathrobes, slippers and spa towels provided, your own veranda and sun terrace, as well as Sky Starter Channels, Netflix, and unlimited WiFi. Over the years, friends and family have commented on the natural beauty and tranquility of our property, remarking how perfect it would be to operate as a luxury accommodation destination. After much deliberation, we decided the time had come to share our little piece of paradise with others to come and enjoy. We knew from the beginning that we wanted offer a style of accommodation that would showcase this beautiful environment. This naturally led to us choosing to build a pretty villa, separate from our own house, with a sunny veranda for guests to sit, have breakfast, and enjoy the beautiful sounds of the native birds. Having traveled extensively, we also wanted to ensure the villa combined all of the features that we seek in accommodation ourselves. Contemporary interior, quality fixtures and fittings, modern technology, luxurious linens and uncompromising cleanliness, would all be essential.

Taupo has an amazing cafe culture and is home to every type of dining, from casual eateries serving hearty food to internationally acclaimed silver service dining and everything in between. Take advantage of our complimentary drop off for evening dining and explore the many eating options for yourselves. Taupo Township is located on the lake’s edge, 3 km from The Retreat Luxury Accommodation, a five minute drive away. Along the way, stop at the Lookout along Huka Falls Road, for a panoramic view of the Taupo township, Lake Taupo, and the dramatic mountains of Tongariro, Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe. Huka Falls, New Zealand's most-visited natural attraction, is just 2.7 km away. There are many attractions catering for the adventurous in Taupo. These include skiing, sky diving, bungy jumping, jet boating, parasailing, and kayaking, along the mighty Waikato River, or to the Maori Rock Carvings on Lake Taupo, to name a few. There are plenty of options for walking, biking and mountain biking around Taupo, as well as a number of golf courses catering for all abilities, and of course, Lake Taupo and the rivers in the Great Lake Taupo region are a trout fishing mecca.
