Stay where old world charm meets modern day luxury. Built as a vicarage in 1901, this historic home is the perfect place for your stay in Oamaru. Each private room is updated to the highest of standard and the guest parlour provides plenty of cosy corners for a morning coffee or afternoon drink. You will be right in the heart of the town with only a five minute walk to the famous Victorian precinct, botanical gardens and everything else that beautiful sunny Oamaru has to offer.
Each of our three private rooms have their own bathroom, high end amenities and luxury linens (please note that The Maple Room has a small but perfectly arranged bathroom).
A continental breakfast with locally sourced produce is included in your stay. We are happy to accommodate most dietary requirements. Coffee, tea and filtered water is available throughout your stay. We will respect your privacy while your are staying with us, but please make yourself at home. Anything you might need help with we all be on call at all times.
Kindly note that The Vicarage has three private bedrooms and we are happy to accommodate group bookings with up to six guests.
Oamaru is famous for its wonderful sunny weather, historic Victorian Precinct, full of art galleries and antique stores. The Steampunk museum, botanical gardens, penguin colonies, fantastic cafes and restaurants, boutique shopping, Sunday market... there really is something for everyone here!
The Vicarage is located right in the heart of the town and you can easily stroll to most of the attractions.
Having a beautiful history, from 1901 when it was built as The Manse to the presbyterian church of St Pauls to being a maternity hospital for 36 years. We are the most beautiful property in Oamaru and very proud of it.
Please, as we try to look after our beautiful land of New Zealand Aotearoa, we request that you please do not bring disposable towels, pillow covers, toilet seat covers or any unnecessary single use items into our country, we are still beautiful for a reason, the reason you are visiting.
We have beautiful linen and towels, so thank you kindly for not even packing these items, they are totally unnecessary. Thank you from NZ
