Shunters Cottage is an original railway cottage that comfortably sleeps 2-6 adults and is located on the doorstep of the exciting new Hauraki Rail Trail. Only a stone's throw from Waihi's iconic township makes it an ideal home away from home!
Hi I manage the Cottage for Goldfields Railway Inc who operate the Heritage Tourist Railway between Waihi and Waikino that operates daily All funds from Traxx Shunters Cottage go towards maintaining our Railway cottages and railway carriage rebuilding. Entry requires a door code which will be sent to you by txt so you arrive and let yourself in and lock and close doors when you leave. Any issues call Robyn Thomas Enjoy your stay
Shunters Cottage is on the doorstep of the Hauraki Rail Trail - running directly past the front door. The Waihi to Paeroa section of the Rail trail is considered to be one the most picturesque stretches of cycleways within New Zealand as it meanders through the stunning Karangahake Gorge.
