The cottage has Wifi, a good selection of DVDs and board games & there are hiking trails directly from the village around the surrounding area. We have an information pack in the cottage with suggested walks directly from the door and fabulous local places to visit. The cottage is well equipped & has many quirky decorative features, like the stained glass olive window in the kitchen, the mosaic stairs & the playful colour scheme. There is a wifi cafe bar & restaurant just 3mins walk down the road called O Careca, they also have a little shop for the basics. The garden is planted with some edible fruit & herbs, guests are very welcome to pick any that are ready to eat during their stay. *please note, this property is Not suitable for disabled or elderly visitors if frail. There is a short but steep slope to walk up to the house. The kitchen and bathroom are downstairs, and the bedrooms and sitting room are upstairs.

After one too many harsh winters in the mountains of northern England, we sold up and moved to Central Portugal. We love the relaxed pace of life here, the long summers, beautiful countryside and friendly locals. We love growing our own fruit and vegetables and indulging in the local fruity red wine. We enjoy escaping off on adventures to the local river-beaches, rambling around the castles, walking in the forests or going for drives up to the little stone-built villages in the mountains. We are sure any visitors to the area will feel just as much at home amid the friendly locals as we do. We certainly love it here and look forward to welcoming you.

We are located in a picturesque rural village surrounded by forests & vineyards, not far from the A13, one of the main routes to the university city of Coimbra from southern parts of the country. The central location makes it easy to explore the area from here. A short drive away you will find the Roman ruins of Conimbriga, the Biological park & the Casa das Arts in Miranda do Corvo & there are many river beaches, castles and quaint mountain villages such as Gondramaz to explore too.
