Charming and cozy cottage located right in the centre of the walled old village, on a cobble stone side street, two steps away from all the attractions, restaurants and bars in Obidos. Guests are warmly welcomed with a basket of fruit, cookies, coffee and tea. When staying at Casa da Travessa you'll really feel and live like a local.
I really love to make my guests feel that they are warmly welcome. Before and during your stay I try to be as helpful as possible, answering for any needs or informations you may need.
Really charming and sweetly decorated home located on a cobble stone side street within the walls of Óbidos. Every window has quaint views and let in perfumed scents of wisteria, blossoming fruit trees and the sounds of church bells. The house is well equipped for cooking if one chooses to take an easy walk along the ancient aqueduct to the supermarket, though there are ample cafes and restaurants just steps away. Beyond things to explore in the old town, there is a user friendly indoor municipal pool within walking distance, a large park below the western escarpment for exercise, picnics and grand views of the castle walls. Óbidos is well situated for hiking along the beach lagoon and cliffs at Foz de Arelho, spend a wonderful day at one of several nearby beaches, such as Baleal, Peniche and Praia del Rey (famous for its golf courses too), for day trips to Peniche, Nazaré, Fátima and Tomar. If you are a seafood/fish lover, you can find the very best restaurants in Peniche (Marisqueira Estelas Restaurant, Tasca do Joel, Restaurante O Pedro, etc). So much to see, experience or to just BE here. I’m sure that this well situated and appointed house of mine meets all your needs
