Casa do Fundo is a hotel for Housing Tourism, located in Seia, distinguished with the Green Key - Sustainable Tourism award, thus becoming the only hotel in Serra da Estrela with this distinction for five consecutive years. Serra da Estrela Nature Park Estrela is the most important mountain in Portugal mainland due to its mass and altitude. The largest element of the Central Mountain Range, is Torre (tower) with 1991 meters high. Serra da Estrela Nature Park (88,850 ha) has a diverse landscape, namely lagoons and high altitude pastures, peat bogs, oak and sweet chestnut woods, other wood areas and production forests. Presence of granite and shale, countless remnants of the last glaciation, the springs of Mondego, Alva and Zêzere rivers, a veritable water castle dominating Beiras regions and the seat of varied climatic facets. Estrela Mountain is a fundamental testimony of the remains of the last glaciation, which occurred about 30 thousand years ago. It presents a high geodiversity and rocks aged up to around 600 million years. These facts were recognized by UNESCO, which gave it the status of a geopark, the so-called Estrela Geopark. It has essentially peripheral human settlements with some isolated houses and interesting examples of regional architecture.
