Lovingly renovated in January 2019 with attention to detail. Spacious lounge and dining area tastefully decorated with Juliette balcony overlooking Bishops Square and the River Gilao, a stones throw away from the Roman Bridge. Includes Air/con/heating. Set in a typically Portuguese central square with all amenities on your doorstep. A brand new kitchen which is fully equipped includes electric hob and oven, Krups Coffee Machine, Bosch toaster, Bosch kettle, iron and ironing board plus a washing machine. Newly fitted bathroom with stylish tiles includes a walk in shower, towels and bathrobes included. A separate bedroom with iron double bed, aircon/heating plus includes a hairdryer and straighteners for your use. Beach towels, beach umbrella and picnic hamper are available during your stay in the charming city of Tavira. There's 2 flights of stairs to a private entrance where you can relax and enjoy the privacy of our apartment. As we are in the centre some noise and activity can be expected which is part of its charm. We will welcome you with samples of local produce to enjoy and the nearest supermarket is 5 minutes walk away and the daily market 10 minutes walk.
We first visited the hidden historical gem of Tavira in September 2017 and fell in love with its charm and beauty instantly We moved to live here in May 2018 from UK. We can meet you on arrival and be available for advice and support throughout your stay if required. We bought our first apartment, Casa Cristina which became available to rent from July 2018. We purchased Casa Oliverio in December 2018 and is available to rent from 1 February 2019.
Tavira is a coastal city in the eastern Algarve fondly known as the Venice of the Algarve set on the meandering River Gilao. Set in the heart of the city is our apartment overlooking Bishops Square, Jardin Alagoa. The 18th century moorish architecture surrounds cobbled streets connected by a roman bridge, Ponte Romana which is a stone's throw away from Casa Oliverio. There's a hill top castle ruins with attractive walled gardens and 37 churches which admirably contribute to it's seductive charm. The central gardens is a great place to have a local ice cream and watch the terrapins in the centre of the gardens which is surrounded by cafes bars and restaurants. Portugal is the third safest country in the world and Tavira is one of the safest cities in Portugal. Being here feels like taking a pleasant and relaxing step back in time and all within walking distance. There are so many attractions to see and do including festivals, live outdoor music, craft and art fayres, Tuk tuk tours, boat trips, quad bike hire, jeep tours in the hills, horseriding, canoeing, many golf courses, daily municipal market, monthly markets and much more.
