Located in Seia, Chao do Rio - Turismo de Aldeia features rustic homes, as well as an outdoor biologic swimming pool and free bicycles. The traditional stone-built units are inserted in natural surroundings which include a garden and a flock of sheep. The pet-friendly units all have a living area with a sofa, flat-screen TV and a CD player. All come with an equipped kitchenette, dining area and a private bathroom. The units feature a balcony and a terrace. When guests arrive at the property, their kitchenette is already filled with breakfast items for their stay. Fresh bread is delivered each day at 17:00 and guests may cook their own meals in the comfort of their own accommodation. In addition, meals can be served upon previous request. These meals are cooked at a restaurant in the vicinity. Other facilities are provided, like a children's playground, and laundry facilities. Communal barbecue facilities are also available in this 19-acre property, as well as an outdoor wood burning oven, an outdoor fireplace, a vegetable garden and a picnic area and farm animals. The Seia centre is 12 km from the unit. The green areas of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park are 15 km away. The Nelas Train Station is 20 km away while Porto International Airport is at a 173 km distance from the Chao do Rio.

Coming from urban lives, but in love with nature and with rurality living in the childhood memory, we found in Chão do Rio, at Travancinha, a place that makes us feel complete, where smiles come from inside and happiness happens in the simple things of life. Here we have created the roots that we didn't had and here we dream of living one day!

In Chão do Rio – turismo de aldeia, we live a time out of time, the time of the simple things. Here the magic is felt among the mighty oaks, the strange animal tracks, or at the “mushroom forest” that apears after each rain ... The houses seem to have always been there and that we just have gave them the form they already had before we could see them ... Here the eyes open themselves widely with amazement and close themselves so that we can hear better the laughter of the children playing freely ... or just to find peace inside...

Travancinha is the village where we find Chão do Rio. Planted at the foothills of the mountains, between Seia and Oliveira do Hospital. Here the mountains have an impressive presence behind the beautiful church of Travancinha. Sunny, with granite houses, the village is surrounded by meadows, olive groves and forests of pine trees. Here we find increadible trails to walk around. Certainly, life is not always easy in this interior village, but solidarity and joy that live in the hearts of its habitants are the weapons that unite the people against adversity and that warmly welcome those who pass by.
