Located 300 meters from Casa da Música, Domus Duorum is a century-old house, built around 1891, whose peculiar architecture tells a little of Porto's history. Casa da Música is a concert hall that began to be built in 1999 as part of the project “Porto 2001 - European Capital of Culture”. Its construction was completed in 2005.The building is located in Boavista, next to Mouzinho de Albuquerque Square. This is a large square full of lovely trees and it is great place to relax. In the center of the square there is a sculpture that attracts all eyes. It is the monument to the Peninsular War. Nearby places Jardins do Palácio de Cristal (1.3 km) Museu Soares dos Reis (1.5 km) Fundação Serralves is a cultural institution whose mission is to promote contemporary art. Within the grounds is the Museum of Contemporary Art, Casa de Serralves and an auditorium. The foundation has a huge and well-kept garden of about 18 hectares that surrounds the museum. In the leaflet delivered at the entrance, different itineraries are suggested that you can follow to go through the gardens without losing any detail. For some years, the stones occupied most of the space on the beaches of Porto, and geologically, they are even a place of study.
