In our MappaMundo we think mostly about having a relaxed time with family and friends. We love to talk, to read, to garden,to swim and trekking around Ribamar/Ericeira. Of course, being of Finish origins, we are delighted to make sauna in the end of day having the stunning view of the sunset over the sea through the window of the building.

MappaMundo is a typical Ribamar tiled house from the mid of the 20th century, located in a quiet street, with an incredible view to the ocean, close to the Ribamar village and a few minutes walk from the beaches. MappaMundo is also only 3 km from Ericeira and 30-40 min from Lisbon. At your disposal are a studio with kitchenette and own shower/toilet. For the moment the studio is the only room to rent. The three other modern and functional rooms with shared bathroom and a extra toilet are not avilable. The first impression you will get is the sea in front of you, a well preseved garden with a small corner for veggies, the finish Sauna, the swimming pool, the barbecues, the outside Kitchen and around the house lots of small and big tables where you can relax, eat or just have a chat with your friends. Renovated rooms combines the charm of an authentic mansion with decoration from different parts of the World ( Laos, Hungary, Sweden, Finland, Belgium...). Mappa is the ideal place to rest after a long day of surfing, trekking, biking or trips around. The property offers a pool, a Nordic style Sauna (the boss is from Tampere, the world capital of saunas ;-) ), a jacuzi and a BBQ area. At your arrival you will receive a basic supply of food, refreshments and condiments so you can prepare your own breakfast and other meals in the inside kitchen or in the outside kitchen /barbecue (oven/micro/stove/korean barbecue/plates and cutlery). Around the house you will find / or be found by our adorable Singha, a most kind female dog, always looking for a treat or to be petted. For whatever you need, we are always there to make your stay more pleasant and to give you some informations about the area, or propose some nice and not necessarily pricey restaurants or ideas of trips around the area of Ribamar/Ericeira. Ribamar belongs to the Freguesia of Santos Isidoro, quite close to Ericeira, which name is related to Ouriços do Mar, a speciality of seafood you can enjoy only in a certain weeks in the year. Beside all fresh fish coming from the local fishermen you can enjoy the capital of seafood in Portugal: Ribamar, the smal village that has more than 20 restaurants of seafood along its main road, where the problem is just to choose, and by night a well known bar, with a long history of live music and good cocktails. Wandering around the village you will meet famous surfing champions or just locals, waiting for the right time to challenge the waves. Be welcome and enjoy seafood, friendly people and all its beaches. Restaurants, music bars and local shops available.
