I'm a native of Terceira and have traced my family line here for 500+ years. My father was a fisherman and my mom embroidered, kept chickens and maintain an orchard that kept us feed when it was too dangerous for dad to go out to sea. In 1974 there was a revolution that lead my parents to immigrate to Canada where I grew up. When I was 29 I met the love of my life and immigrated again to California where I now live with him and our kids. When my kids were little I wanted them to go with me to Terceira to see my family there and to know their roots from my side of the family. My husband loved it so much we bought a home there and that's how our journey to vacation rentals started. We now have 2 locations that we renovated and with the help of my cousin Elsa who will be your contact there, we started our little property management company Fuga Doce (Sweet Escape) in hopes of sharing our love for this amazing Island with fellow world travelers, and those looking for there roots on this Island paradise.

There is a grocery shop nearby as well as the main farmer's market where you can pick up locally grown produce. The city also has great restaurants, that would delight every foodie. Mt Brasil is within walking distance with its historic fortress and enigmatic trails, that speak of ancient civilizations on the island. It is also a great place to picnic and get the most breathtaking views of the city. This exceptional location is close to all the best the island has to offer.
