Quinta de Cabanas Douro Country House is a Casa de Campo next to the Douro River with 10 rooms and plenty of comfort for a real family holiday or among friends and co-workers. With an outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, billiards, foosball, roulette table, ping pong table, barbecue and lots of green area with a mirror of water, there is nothing missing for you to have unforgettable moments. If you wish, we also have breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner service so that you can enjoy your holidays effortlessly, having the opportunity to taste what the best has to offer traditional Portuguese cuisine, always with fresh, healthy local produce.

Neighbourhood information

Having an area of ​​1079 ha, the parish of Santa Maria de Penha Longa, as the name seems to indicate, it is located on the north bank of the Douro river, extending a steep and mountainous landscape. It is part of the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, since 1853. Of the ancient settlement, the village of Penha Longa has at Eiró Hill, spiral and helical prehistoric inscriptions. These petroglyphs were discovered at the beginning of the century. XX has been a continued target image of archaeological Casaestudos, which give it the age of 5000 years. However, most of the inscriptions remain anonymous, lying only one in Soares dos Reis Museum in Porto. The temple of Penhalonga Parish is worthy of attention: its vaulted ceilings are wooden and the Altar-Mor boasts a beautiful Renaissance carving. The civil architectural heritage of the parish is the equally very rich way. His highlight is the Quinta da Capela and Carrapatelo House, imposing solar emblazoned baroque style that is located near the dam that earned its name. Leisure tourism, culture and rest, given the extraordinary beauty of the landscape and the proximity of the Douro river.
