Quinta do Regalo is a 16th century property, consisting of a manor house, chapel and monumental fountain, classified as a monument of public interest and wich over time has maintained its original design. Being a family property and not a hotel, it welcomes its guests in a guest house environment. The manor house with a classic decoration combined with the comfort requirements of today's times, allows for a unique and memorable stay. Surrounded by gardens, swimming pool, organic vegetable garden and orchards, it allows a perfect symbiosis between the pleasures of country life and the fascination of the city of Coimbra, full of history, monuments and classified heritage. Every morning our guests will be presented with a wonderful breakfast, full of local products, jams, juices and fruit from our orchards, homemade bread, cheeses, honey and homemade cakes. Between reading, sunbathing by the pool, walks and fruit tasting in the orchard, the days spent at Quinta do Regalo will certainly be invigorating and unforgettable. From Quinta do Regalo, located on the north bank of the Mondego river, we can see the old hill of Coimbra with its magnificent University Tower, the bell towers of the New Cathedral and the wonderful Joanina Library. Coimbra and the surrounding villages have a millenary origin with a very rich monumental heritage, where the visitor can go back in time and walk through the alleys of the Roman city of Conimbriga, visit the ancient Roman Forum of Aeminium, enter the austere monastic life of the Middle Ages by visiting the Old Cathedral and the Convent of Santa Clara a Velha, go through the Renaissance period and appreciate the most beautiful works of the Coimbrã School of Sculpture at the Machado de Castro Museum, Churches and Convents. And finally, visit its magnificent University dating from 1290 and whose Joanine Library is ranked among the twelve most beautiful libraries in the world. After long walks and when it's time to regain energy, visitors can taste the estraordinary Beirã cuisine in one of the many retaurants in downtown. At the end of the day, you can taste the rich conventual sweets, lulled by the sound of fado and the Coimbra guitar.
