I’ve always loved to travel, and like many others, I started using Booking to discover special places around the world. A few years ago, while walking through the charming and typical Bairro da Bica in Lisbon — right near the iconic funicular — I fell in love with a beautiful old building that was in desperate need of restoration. There was something magical about the area: the cobbled streets, the vibrant local life, and the charm of the funicular slowly climbing the hill. It reminded me of the kind of places I’ve stayed in during my travels — authentic, full of character, and with a story to tell. So I decided to bring that vision to life: restore the building with care and turn it into a place where travelers could feel at home while experiencing the real Lisbon. Renting the apartments for short stays helped make the renovation possible, and now with the help of Teresa I welcome guests from all over the world.
