Porto Formoso, named by the island´s discoverers, is located on São Miguel´s north coast. Just a few steps from Vivenda Xavier is the beautiful bay of Praia dos Moinhos, surrounded by cliffs crossed by a stream that used to move the mill´s waterwheels' propel reflected in the beach name.
