Set in an 1883 theatre building, this hotel is within 200 metres of Östersund’s pedestrian street, Prästgatan, and the bus terminal. The theatre is a lively host for various events and music concerts. The hotel offers modern rooms and a restaurant and bar. Best Western Gamla Teatern’s rooms feature cable TV, a work desk and tea/coffee facilities. Most have a fridge and a flat-screen TV. Other facilities include a bookable sauna. Guests can borrow bikes for free and explore the city at their own convenience. WiFi and free parking. Note that parkings spaces are limited. The à la carte restaurant, 64:a Rum & Kök, offers Swedish and international options. Breakfast and lunch buffets are served in the old theatre bar. Cultural events still take place in the theatre. Östersund Central Station is 10 minutes’ walk from Gamla Teatern. The Expo Norr trade fair area and Åre Östersund Airport on Frösön Island are within 10 minutes’ drive. The impressive Åre Ski Resort is a 1.5-hour drive away. Our hotel is often used for shows and events, so it can be disruptive for our guests at times.
