Located just 7km from the famous Storforsen Nature Reserve, Vidsel is a great base for your holiday.
Winter or Summer there is something for everyone. We will be happy to help you book the activities to make your holiday one to remember.
We are an English and American couple that moved to Sweden in 2019 after falling in love with it on holiday. We love the outdoors and enjoy sharing our new home with guests.
We live nearby and operate a tour business, Thorsen Tours. You can search for us or send a message if you wish to book any tours or rental equipment. Information can also be found in your holiday home.
Vidsel is a friendly, quiet village in the North of Sweden.
Here there is a local grocery store called Tempo with most of the essentials you will need for your stay. It is located just a few minute drive or short walk away from your home.
Vidsel also has a café, second hand shop, pizzeria, hair salon, self service fuel pump and mechanic.
Storforsen Nature Reserve is located just 7km from Vidsel. The rapids and surrounding nature reserve are beautiful all year rounds. There are many grilling pits and places to explore also a small gift shop full of local goods.
The Pite River flows through Vidsel. A bathing place is located in the village where you can enjoy a nice swim in the cool waters and relax by the fire pit or play some beach volleyball in the Summer.
The backyard connects directly to the cross country ski tracks in Winter and nice walking trails in the Summer.
There are many lakes and mountains within short driving distance that provide beautiful scenery that we will be happy to share with you.
Larger grocery stores and shops are located in Älvsbyn, roughly 30 minutes drive away.
