Explore the Surroundings – Nature, History & Local Gems The cabin is located in an area known as Djurgårdsgrind, named after the farm where renowned Swedish author Ivar Lo-Johansson grew up. Just outside the cabin, you'll find a large forest with excellent mushroom-picking spots. From here, you can enjoy a scenic one-hour hike to Tornberget, the highest natural point in Stockholm County, featuring an observation tower and access to Tornberga National Park. The well-known Sörmland Trail (Sörmlandsleden) is also within walking distance – perfect for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. If you stroll south through the forest for a few minutes, you’ll reach Bulten Burger – a seasonal burger stand popular for its delicious burgers. Ice cream is often available too! About 10 km from the cabin lies Östnora Camping, home to a shallow, family-friendly beach by the sea. The water here is famously warm – perfect for a summer swim.
