In a tiny hillside village between Koper and Croatia, Flegi is a family escape from city life and stress. You live in your own 3 bedroom air conditioned house, enjoy both indoor and outdoor kitchen / dining facilities, a private pool and are welcome to pick and eat anything that grows in the vegetable garden. The hosts live in the neighbour house and an extended cat family is also in permanent residence. Although the village is remote, Trieste and Croatia are only a 30 minutes drive away. While Flegi offers relaxation and immersion in a village way of life, shopping and city life is relatively close. There is no traffic noise at night, only deer and crickets. The rescued cat family is cared for, neutered and fed. While shy, the cats are curious about newcomers and a possible deal breaker for severe allergies sufferers. They coexist well with guests'dogs and cats. Obviously, we are pet friendly, but we do request pet owners to contact us for additional information before booking.

We are both journalists working from home. We live on the property in a separate building and regularly disturb our guests when tending to the vegetable garden and watering plants.

Istria looks much like Tuscany - hills with scattered stone house villages. Yet, the seaside is never far. In a half hour, it can be either Trieste with its timeless elegance and good coffee, beach with a sea breeze, or steaks and truffles in one of many surrounding restaurants. Ample shopping opportunity of all kinds is either in Koper (20 minutes) or in either Italy or Croatia (both are a half hour away), while two small village shops are within 5 minutes.
